Carlton O’Neal is a 25 year veteran in technology, global entrepreneurship, marketing, sales, and business development. Currently, he is a Clinical Professor at the University of San Diego teaching Marketing, Business-to-Business Marketing, and Professional Selling, and also teaches Marketing and Sales to local executives as Continuing Education. Previously, he held VP and CEO positions with various start-up and public technology companies in the U.S. and abroad including GigaRiver, Proximetry, Alvarion (Israel), Bosch Telecom (Germany), and Texas Instruments and pioneered the creation of the first commercial 4G standard in the world called WiMAX. In his positions, O’Neal was involved in strategic planning and leadership including market targeting, positioning and differentiating, developing key early customers and partnerships, and marketing and selling products and services in the U.S. and 35 countries worldwide. O’Neal began his career in various management positions at voicemail inventor Octel and AT&T, and practiced corporate, technology, and securities law at Baker & Botts, the oldest and largest technology law firm in the Southwest United States. He holds a JD (Law Review, Moot Court Finalist) and MBA (Summa Cum Laude) from Southern Methodist University and a BS in Electrical Engineering (Management Track) from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
